Opalescent was Hopkins' first major move. The record, however, sounds outdated and even uninteresting, when viewed from today's standards, or more precisely, when compared to what Hopkins himself achieved with his Immunity or Singularity. For one thing, the sound making of this LP tends to border the typical human sentimentality. Simply, it's too human. That's why it's hard to finish listening to it at one go.
